Hope your special day is everything you thought it would be and more. What made me think differently on birthdays was Job 1:4 where his sons would feast on his appointed day. No more guilt so enjoy!!!

It's My Birthday Today
by pale.emperor intoday is my 34th birthday.
or, my 3rd birthday that i've actually acknowledged seeing as i was raised in the cult.. i woke up this morning to my 4yo running into my room and wishing me a "happy birthday daddy!".
i got a card from my ex-jw brother and i bought myself a birthday gift - a new 50mm lens for my nikon camera (photography is a hobby i took up since leaving the cult).. i dont know about you guys, but birthdays is still something i have to make a conscious effort to acknowledge and enjoy.

Animals
by unsure inif humans have to suffer to have free will and to disprove satan's challenge to god as mentioned in the bible...then why the f*ck do animals have to suffer as well?

satan's challenge involved humans and not poor animals.. i'm looking for an honest explanation from believers.. at this point, the older i get, the less i believe in a god who is "love"..

Amelia, so sorry for your little pooch. Mine was put down a year and a half ago. It's never easy. Mine was a rotti named Buddy who was a rescue. I felt so guilty having to leave him alone for six hours a day when I would have to go for my chemo yet when I would come home there he would be so happy to see me.
But then one day I was starting to get better and he came over and placed his head on my lap trying to let me know that it was time. I thought he wasn't eating much because I wasn't around but here it was cancer and I couldn't help him. I will never forget that time of my life. That hurt me way more than me having to go to my mothers funeral.
That is why no more pets for me. I have a feral cat that I was able to tame and get her fixed. That is it for me.So yes I love my animals. Way better than humans. Hope you get another one if or when you are ready to.

Remembrance Day
by label licker inthinking back on how we were not suppose to get involved in honoring the dead yet the entire bible is based on dead people, what they have done whether good or bad and lessons we could learn from them and honoring them.
i remember being told that we are not suppose to go boasting before men on what we do, not letting the right hand know what the left hand is doing yet all those people in the bible had their entire lives written down before us to be remembered.

We were never suppose to take part in Remembrance Day. It reminds me of how we were not suppose to get involved in politics either yet there they are writing letters to Russia.

What was the last thing you said to your jw family?
by caves in7 years ago i had my last conversation with the toxic jw that mostly raised me.
every conversation was toxic for my entire adult life with her.
the last time we spoke was right before the memorial 7 years ago and she was laying on the usual heavy guilt and fear mongering about how jeho counts his people at the memorial.

I told my sister I had interhepatic cholangiocarcinoma and just wanted to talk. I told her there are many things we can talk about but lets leave religion out of our conversations. She told me I was shaking her faith and had to go. Told me if she didn't get back to me on the internet it was because her computer wasn't working right. So after leaving the religion and having no friends I now had no family. We had just moved to get away from the constant rejection they give you when they see you even walking down a street. Three months later I was diagnosed with this beast of a cancer and had no support, no friends and no family. Plus we didn't know anyone down here at our new place. I guess that was my all time low.

There is something I don't understand about the selling off of Kingdom Halls

there is something that i don't understand, or maybe i am just misunderstanding it.

Even if it were true, there's a broken down system with doctors wanting to learn. I speak of experience since I was diagnosed with interhepatic cholangiocarcinoma. In the States they are using immunotherapy for this rare cancer ( i say rare because there isn't enough research done on it and there's only four percent of us worldwide that have it) and it seems to help many. I'm on the cholangiocarcinoma warriors face book site and am listening to many who are using these trials and benefiting from them yet the doctors here Ontario say immunotherapy isn't used for this cancer. I told my oncologist to go on the site but refuses to listen.There's two others from Ontario that have noticed the same thing. And he's not the first oncologist to do this, All my warrior survivors on this site want to speak to these doctors but that will never happen. Doctors only want healthy patients!
